Christmas break and digipak

this Christmas break I will begin my digipack. I wanted to have a photoshoot with Brenda but when she is available I'm not. so ill just use her Instagram pictures instead, they may be bad quality but I can work around that.

So I began some research on how to Photoshop and here are some of my favorite videos.

 

I think I'll use these techniques along with other that I learn along the way!

Filming and change of narrative

So in the past two weeks, we finished filming what we needed. I think that now the music video will have another narrative. Just a happy one because we don't have time to film all the argument scenes. we have one but it's not enough and will only make the story weaker.

So we filmed some more!

Last week we got all the solo shots of Pricilla and Michael,  which is about 20% of the filming done so I guess we're on track.

I've begun editing the footage so far because in the storyboard they go together so for the moment it is fine. But I should finish this edit soon so we'll have to film soon again.

No filming for the moment!

Last week we could not film because I had prior commitments over the weekend and no one else could film.

I guess we are now slightly behind where we were supposed to be but I can get everything back on track soon enough.

Definitely filming next weekend, because for now I'm done with the footage I had to edit.

Filming Pricilla's indoors scenes - CHECK

So last friday went quite smoothy and Akleia and I filmed Pricilla's scenes at a friend's house. We did so in the morning so the lighting and setting up was fantastic. I think we got all we needed.

Now to film Michael at Nathan's house on friday. Hopefully it all works out as smoothly as Pricilla's shoot!

Lets fix this production mess!

Tom cancelled on us AGAIN! we have concluded he is not very reliable, so today we sat together as a crew and decided to scrap Tom.

At first we though of just recasting the male protagonist still as a white boy, so we thought of Spike Lacey. But then since none of us really know him all that well we were scared of him also cancelling on us, and we really can't afford any more filming cancellations.

Then we discussed a potential story change or alteration. We would have to come up with a whole new story and concept and it would be very complicated with time running out as fast as it is.

Finally we came to  a conclusion of simply recasting our male protagonist, but this time it would be a mixed race boy we know called Michael. He worked with us on the Britney Prelim task and he demonstrated his reliability then. He is also extremely good friends with Nathan which makes him our best option at the moment. However due to him not being the white boy we were looking for the racial contrast we wanted is now not going to be possible, so to enhance the contrast between the couple we have planned in detail the exact outfits they have to wear to portray the remaining strong contrast between their classes.

I am now filming Pricilla's indoor scenes on Friday after school and Nathan is filming the bus journey on Wednesday since he finishes early then. The remaining scene we'll be filming next Saturday when the crew is free again.

Hope this all works out perfectly now.

Filming cancelled.

That didn't go so  well. Tom (our male protagonist) had to cancel our filming session on sunday last minute because his sister is coming to visit from University, it was  unexpected.

But we have agree to film next sunday instead since it's the only other day he has free due to work experience.

Filming over the half term

We have arranged a time when the whole crew is available and also our actors.

On this first Sunday of the half term we will be filming with everyone and doing the scenes where the couple are together. This will allow us to be able to complete almost all the filming outside leaving only the indoor scenes to film which we could even do at night on any weekday.]

Real storyboarding

We have begun to research specific things for our music video. We have chosen our song

and now we just need to storyboard (even though we all secretly hate it)

Our song is an RnB track by BreBreRunway who is actually Nathan's (one of our team members) older sister. This is cool because I was thinking we could even use her on our video or at least for a photo shoot for the Ancillary tasks.

I have been really interested in match on action and split screens lately and maybe we could incorporate that in out project!

I love this video because it is both thought provoking and awesome inspiration for our music video.

Prelim evaluation

So today we did out preliminary evaluation as a team and it went well, this made us really think about our mistakes and how we would fix that for the main project.

Prelim filming - Done

Well it's Friday now and we have found all our cast members and have arranged times to film with them all together. We will hopefully finish all the filming by the end of period 2 and then I can start editing it all together.

Filming and some problemoss

Well it's Wednesday and we have cast our Britney - Its Kadife Toci and some people for other little bits, We still need to find our back up dancers - no one wants to do it :( so we aren't filming everything today because our cast isn't arranged fully yet.




We did film the solo Britney scenes though and also some of the locker scenes and the three boys walking out the door.




I've found out it's very hard to control people who aren't dedicated to the cause, because they aren't getting anything from it so why would they concentrate?! ARGHH for the final project I think we should stick to  a small cast as it'll be easer to control and get everyone together.

Prelim task started!

So today was our first day back and we have already stated on our preliminary task.
We have to create a replica of Britney Spears' 'baby one more time' music video. This is going to be intense! I HATE that song, with a passion!


~So as a team (Akleia, Pricilla  and Nathan) we've begun storyboarding our shots and filming schedules. I think it'll quite tricky getting the same shots as the music video because some of then are very brief, like 1 second or less!


We plan to start filming this Wednesday.

Website, website, website

I've started been working on my website and have completed the Andrew Goodwin theories and a few other things. This year I will keep up to date with my website s I don't have to do everything on the last minute like again.

Summer research...

During my summer holidays I have been watching an incredibly large number of music videos and films for inspiration. I have been watching anything and everything from Avril Lavigne to AC/DC music videos and this mixture is allowing me get an overall feel of every genre of music videos.
